Army prohibit people to worship at the Ganavairavar Temple within 200 meters from boundary of HSZ

When people attempted go to Ganavairavar Temple located near Vasavillan Central College and around 200 meters from ‘ Army Residences” are angered by this prohibition, people smashed the coconuts they have taken at the boundary fence and lighted camphor despite the army men asking not to do so.

The people then contacted the OC in charge over the phone, and although he promised to come to the spot, he never came and also did not answer subsequent calls. On the request of the people, NPC Minister Ainkaranesan and TNA MP Sritharan tried to reason out with the army to no avail. Thereafter Minister Ankaranesan promised the people to take suitable action through the CM,NPC. It is notable that people were allowed to go to this temple to worship once in 2005.
