Army will engage in anti- violence and anti-drug activities in the North as requested, Says Army Commander
A request has been made that the Army should control violence and drug abuse. Accordingly the Army will assist the police in controlling violence and drugs abuse in the North, said the Army Commander Lt. Gen. Shavendra Silva.
He said so while speaking to the media men yesterday in Jaffna.
Elaborating further he said that a request was made here that the Army should control the violence and drugs abuse. Accordingly the Army and Police will undertake joint activities in the future in this regard.
It is a well known fact that violence and drug abuse have increased in the North. The Army will offer full corporation in preventing such thing occurring, he said.
