Attention drawing rally yesterday demanding release of Iranaitheevu

The people of Iranaitheevu of Poonakary DS Division held a protest rally yesterday demanding the Navy release their ancestral lands in Iranaitheevu.

The Rally commenced from Kilinochchi St.Thresa Church, proceeded along A9 and reached Kilinochchi District Secretariat, where a memorandum was handed over to the District Secretary.

The people of Iranaitheevu are engaged in a 29 days old struggle insisting the Navy to release their ancestral lands in Iranaitheevu. So far no positive answer had been provided to them from responsible factions. In a context of where they have declared that they will not abandon their struggle until they set foot in their own lands, they have held this rally.

Several people including MP, S.Sritharan, MPc, Pasupathypillai, Leader of TPNF, Kajendrakumar, former parliamentarian Selvarasa Kajendran, and Cat  holic clergy participated in the rally.
