Best Agricultural Scientist Award bestowed on Dr. Arasakesari

Sri Lanka’s National Award of Best Agricultural Scientist – 2020 has been bestowed on Dr. Arasakesari Day before yesterday.

Minister Mahinthanantha  Aluthgamage handed over this award in an event held at Peradeniya.

Annually this award is bestowed on a selected person. This year a Tamil person has won this Award for the first time.

This Award has been bestowed on the Additional Director of the Agricultural Research Centre located at Iranamadu junction, Dr. Arsakesari, for discovering new varieties of onion, chilies, ground nut Kurakkan and mango plants.

Several persons including Minister of Agriculture, State Minister and Director General of Agriculture participated in this event.
