Cabinet approves 74 Million compensation to victims of fire in Kilinochchi Market
The cabinet had approved the payment compensations to traders who were affected by the massive fire in the Kilinochchi Market, after 1½ months from submitting papers for granting compensation. In accordance with the cabinet paper submitted by the Minister of Rehabilitation, D.M.Swaminathan, 74 million will be paid in compensation
A fire broke out in the Kilinochchi Market on September 16th, this year.Minister Swaminathan had earlier submitted a Cabinet paper proposing to allocate 74 million to affected traders, 97 Million for setting up Fire Brigade, and 150 Million for renovating the damaged areas. These are the proposal approved by the Cabinet.
