We cannot just act like henchmen of the centre, we are waiting for power devolution, CM to WB
While saying that the Tamil faction is waiting for power devolution, the CM, C.V.Wigneswaran told the World Bank representatives, that, ” We cannot just act like henchmen of the Centre”.
The Representatives of the World Bank, Peter de Ellis, Seenithamby Manoharan, and Resika Samal Mith and Sen along with representatives of various foreign Establishments visited North yesterday, met the CM at around 11.00 a.m. at his residence.
Several Officials on behalf of World Bank met me yesterday and one faction had given a good news that the World bank had allocated 55 million rupees.
We clarified to them that, the Centre is not giving due consideration to the Provincial and taking decisions without any consultation and the Centre does not possesses a favourable attitude to cooperate with the Provincial Council.
The WB officials shared a good understanding with us regarding power devolution. We asked them to help us to solve our problems by ourselves and they accepted our stance, hr said.
