Close relatives of missing persons bound their mouths with Black cloth to protest at UN office

Mothers wives children and siblings of missing persons staged a silent protest at the UN office at Temple Road in Jaffna with their mouths bound with black clothes.

This silent protest was staged in the context of the UN committee on missing persons had come on a visit to Jaffna and recording statements from the kins of missing persons. They called for pressure to be exerted on GOSL to find out their children.

Later they testified to the committee regarding missing persons.

This committee had also condoled the relatives and encouraged them not to lose hope . And they also said that, they exert pressure on GOSL to say what had happened to your children. Continue struggling changes will come, they had said.
