CM in tears moved by the spontaneous uprising of youth in his support

Thousands of youth congregated in front the NPC yesterday and held a demonstration in front of the NPC in support of the CM whom the ITAK was trying to depose. ITAK stalwarts were condemned for daring ti lay hands on a CM elected with an unprecedented optional votes. Mainly condemned were Era Sampanthan – Mawai  Senathyrasa – Sumanthiran – Arnold and Sritharan.

Then they went to CM’s residence to assure him their spontaneous support.

The CM came out to meet them.

All theses days I was not aware of the love of the people so demonstrated today. I took some action with a view to the welfare of the people. I was having a fear whether it will impact politically on me.With today, that fear has vanished.  My strength is the people’s love and support. I need not have a fear relevant to politics. I have not acquired support politically. The service done to the people is our strength. I will be always with you said he, intermittently wiping tears flowing from his eyes.
