Contamination of underground water at Chunnakam: Court orders Chief Secretary to submit Radar report in 3 months

Mallakam magistrate A.Judson ordered the Chief Secretary of NPC to analyze the water contamination of underground water at Chunnakam with RADAR and submit a report within 3 months.

The High Court had granted the permission to undertake a RADAR based analysis of the affected area. The Chief Secretary of the NPC should take action to conduct the above analysis with suitable persons and submit a report within 3 months regarding, the reason for the contamination,  had the contamination gone down in the context of the suspension of operation in the said area, and whether action had been taken to remove waste materials.

The court also ordered  that the Minister of Agriculture need not be present in the court any more.
