We expect a solution to the ethnic problem through the new Constitution, says Sampanthan to Indian Foreign Secretary

The Leader of the TNA, Era Sampanthan has  categorically  told the Indian Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale , that a solution to the ethnic p problem is expected through the New Constitution. He had further said that this solution is expected within an inseparable Sri Lanka.

Indian Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale , is on a two day visit to Sri Lanka and he met a delegation of TNA on yesterday, Friday.

Sampanthan also had insisted that the New Constitution should be adopted before the Provincial Council Elections and as a situation is existing where a 2/3 majority could be obtained, it is essential that the Constitution is adopted before the end of the year.

He had also emphasized  about the necessity of the constitution being one where the people could determine and decide on their day to day affairs and the need for the features of the Indo- Lanka agreement being incorporated into the Constitution.
