External Affairs Minister calls on UN Secretary General

External Affairs Minister Mangala Samaraweera called on UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon at UN Head Quarters in New York on February 13.

Reports indicate that both discussed issues related to human rights, accountability and reconciliation. Prior to meeting Ban ki Moon, Mangala Samaraweera in his Washington address urged for the delay in the scheduled release of the Human Rights Council report until August or so. They discussed the issues behind closed doors.
