Farmers in Mannar in an attempt to save their cultivation, pumping out submerging water

The paddy fields in Mannar are found in a state of submersion. The drainage channels continuing to overflow and with the intermittent rains, the flood waters in the fields are unable to get drained.

The farmers are engaged in clearing the drainage channels and pumping flood waters out. The believe that they could at least save the parts of cultivation which had not been damaged.
