Flooded North reaches crisis level- 100,268 highly affected- 4,736 families in Temporary centres
Heavy rains pouring over the North during the last few days and undrained flood waters have affected 100,268 people belonging to 28,314 families. Out of them 16,695 people belonging to4,736 families were housed in 110 temporary welfare centres. The North had been lashed by 350mm rain in the last 5 days from Thursday.

All tanks are filled to capacity and spilling. In some tanks the sluice gates are opened. Some roads are inundated by Flood waters. Some villages in Muliaitheevu and Mannar district. The Government Officers of respective district said dry rations had been stored in those areas in anticipation of floods.
