Governor Ragavan decides submit request to raise 14 Northern Schools as National Schools
The Northern Governor , Dr.Suren Ragavan has decided to forward a request to the Education Ministry to raise 14 Northern schools to National Schools level.
In a context where old boys and people’s representatives of the North requesting the Governor to grant permission to apply for raising the grades of several school, the Governor has decided as above.
In comparison to other provinces, where the National Schools constitute 3.5 % of all schools, Northern province has only 2.5% of National Schools. With a view to bring the number of National Schools on the average to 3.5%, the Governor has decided to recommend 14 schools to be raised to National Schools status.
While saying that the selected 14 schools should represent all 5 districts, and only the people’s representatives of the respective District could select the schools to be promoted he has also requested that the representatives should send in their selection as soon as possible.
