Governor secretly planning to open Vihares, after the term of current PC ends, says CM

Secret attempts are being made to open Buddhist Vihares in the North after the term of office of the current Provincial Council comes to an end and all powers will go into the hands of the Governor, said NPC CM, C.V.Wigneswaran.

He has also forecasted that a situation will be created where the Tamil people have to stop them.

He said so while speaking at an event to open a secretariat of the TPC at Kantharmadam, Palaly Road, on Friday evening.

Speaking further, he said, The TPC has assembled in an important period. PC Elections are looming.  After the term of the PC, the Governor will be ruling here. A time will come when the Tamil people had to rise stop actions detrimental to them.

Most importantly, it has been learned action are being taken to complete the constructions of the Vihares now being undertaken and declare them opened during the rule of the Governor. No action to open Vihares  and challenges us to prove it. Although we have evidence, we cannot publicize them, for it will create trouble to people with the Governor, said the CM.
