Heart melting Homage paying to Maveerars in Homes of the Tamil Homeland
Tamil people paid their heart melting homage to Maveerars who have sacrificed their lives for their well being amidst all areas Tamil Home land being flooded with Security Forces, Police and intelligence operatives.
With all courts in North and East banning Maveerar events , Tamil Political leaders and people remembered their children who sacrificed their lives for the Tamil people by lighting memorial flames and paying silent tributes at their homes and residences.
The kins of Maveerar who used to relieve their sorrows by crying over the tombs and memorial stones annually were prevented from doing so by the adamant stance of the Government implementing bans through district courts.
The Rector of St. Martyn’s Seminary, Jaffna has been arrested for preparing to pay homage to Maveerars.
Similarly, a youth who attempted light memorial flame at Paranthan Junction was also arrested and the media men who tried to cover the event were intimidated and the images in their cameras were deleted by Security Forces. (All photos courtesy The Tamil Guardian)
