Histories are distorted against Tamil people, through the charters of Majority people, accuses Wigneswaran
The Leader of the Tamil Makkal Koottani and MP, Justice C.V. Wigneswaran has accused that the histories are distorted and re-written against Tamil people through charters of the Majority people.
He was speaking in an event for publication of the book “ Azhikkapadum Chadchiyankazh” ( Evidences that are being destroyed.) held recently in the Conference hall of the Jaffna Public Library.
Records of 74 persons who had strived until they breathed their last, to find out about their children siblings, or their kins who had been arrested or abducted by the Military personnel and intelligence unit men and subsequently made to disappear.
As the histories, existence and traditions of ancient Tamil people have not been properly documented and preserved in books, in ola scrolls or stone inscriptions, our histories are being distorted and written on a daily basis.
Not only that the histories of 3000 old Tamil settlers here are being removed and fictious stories had been created to show that Sinhala people who came into existence in 6th or 7th century AD being the most ancient settlers of Sri Lanka and Tamils were later settlers.
We have to consider this as another form of Genocide, he said.
