I will get back lands of Kepapulavu People very soon: Sampanthan promises them

The Leader Of tha Opposition and tha TNA, Era Sampanthan promised the the people of Kepapulavu that, he will get back their lands which are under the army currently.

The people from all 5 DS Divisions of Mullaitheevu District met the Leader of the opposition Era Sampanthan at Mankulam yesterday.

He said as above after the people aired their problems to him. Land problem is an important problem. colorizations were carried out in various forms in in various districts after the independence. Thanthai Selva signed an agreement with Bandaranayake having an objective of stopping these colorizations in 1957. 1965 saw the agreement between Thanthai Selva and Dudley. Although these agreements were signed accepting the land rights of the Tamil people and their other rights, unfortunately these agreements never came into force. Our stance is that when a solution is arrived, it should consist of the basic things accepted in these agreements. Our People, especially the women are undergoing severe difficulties due to the activities of the Army.

The Army is living on the lands of our people and they are carrying out several activities including Agriculture and they are colluding with majority Sinhalese for them to undertake several activities unfavourable to Tamil people. 259 families are affected in Kepepulavu. I have spoken about this to needed persons. I have got all information from MP, Shanthy about your problem and I will take all necessary action on this. If necessary I will come directly to Kepapulavu to solve your problems, he said.
