Illegal relic tower and Vihare at Navatkuli –  Chavakachcheri PS files for injunction order

The Chavakacheri Prsdeshiya Sabai has filed a case seeking an order to stop construction of the illegal vihare and relic tower at Navatkuli. Following the court had sent notice to the chief Thero of Navatkuli Vihare to appear in court on the 20th.

Application has been filed requesting the court to issue an order to stop the construction of relic tower. Chavakachcheri Magistrate court magistrate Mrs. Sri Nithy Nanthasegaran had sent a summons to Viharathypathy.

In a context where a vihare had been already constructed the Viharathypathy Edmplipitiya Sumanthero is undertaking work to construct a massive relic tower at a cost 10 Million rupees. Although the said area lies within the Chavakachcheri PS area, no permission has been obtained for the construction.

However, following the Constructions being continued, the PS had sought with the court to issue an order preventing the construction.

Meanwhile it is notable that Northern Provincial Council had already adopted a resolution that the construction of the Vihare and the relic tower is illegal.
