Iluppaikadavai Grama Officer who raised his voice against illegal sand mining hacked to death

The Grama Officer of Mannar Illuppaikadavai who was raising his voice against the illegal sand mining has been hacked to death during the night of day before yesterday.

S.Wijendran (aged 55 years ) alias Wiji, who was serving as the Actg. Administrative Officer for the Grama Officers was the person hacked to death day before yesterday night.

He had been attacked at Kalliyadi Aathimodai area when he was returning home after work.

He was taken to Pallamadu Hospital and then transferred to Mannar Hospital, where he was found dead.
