Intervention of International countries needed in the People made to disappear: says CM
No constructive action has been taken by the Government so far and it has entailed the intervention of International countries, said the Chief Minister of Northern Provincial Council, C.V.Wigneswaran. He has indicated this in a statement he has issued on the International Day of the People made to Disappear which fell yesterday, 30th August.
Attention drawing struggles are being undertaken in the North and East. We have also submitted oral and written request to the Government. We requested it to take due action about the problem of Missing persons. However no concrete action has been taken by the Government so far.
Although International community has requested to take acceptable action, no action has been taken. We demand the International countries who had granted 2 years to the Government in this regard, to exert pressure on the Government, he had said.
