Jaffna District and Northern Province lead in GCE(A/L) results, Island wide

The statistics of the Examination department had revealed that the Jaffna District and the Northern province are leading the results of the GCE(A/L)-2015 results. As per the statistics, 65.23% of the candidates who sat for the exam from the Northern Province had passed in it while 66.32% of the Jaffna district candidates had passed the examination.

Meanwhile, Sabaragamuwa, Western, Uva, and Southern provinces had taken respectively the 2^nd, 3^rd, 4^th and the 5^th place. Also, the Ratnapura , Mannar, Batticaloa, Kilinochchi districts had captured respectively 2^nd,3^rd , 4^th and 5^th places. It is notable that Sabaragamuwa Province and Kilinochchi District won the first places.

As per the results 155,447 candidates had qualified to apply for university admissions. Among them 6,547 candidates had scored 3As. in this examination. There is an increase of 5,964 candidates who qualified to apply for admission to universities over 149,483 being the number for 2014.
