Jaffna Lawyers on 1 day strike protesting defamatory information about Judiciary on web sites

All the lawyers of the North went on a day’s strike, protesting the defamatory information about the Judiciary.

It is not a proper thing that wrong and defamatory information being uploaded in websites about the Judiciary. On the basis of these being condemnable, the Northern lawyers are on a strike in protest. Criticizing persons related with Judiciary without any is a condemnable matter.

The Lawyers Association has had taken the first step against the media which had published these defamatory information.

All the lawyers serving in the Magistrate courts and District Courts in Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Mannar Mullaitheevu, Kayts, Mallakam and Point Pedro boycotted the courts, and as the courts were paralyzed due to the boycott the public who went to the courts were highly inconvenienced.
