Jaffna Magistrate Court rules that Maveerar commemorations could not be held in public places
The Jaffna Magistrate Court has ordered that people cannot get together in public places to commemorate Maveerar Day tomorrow 27th.
The Magistrate Court had said that it is banning gathering people at public places and holding the commemoration.
The court has said that as the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam had been proclaimed as a terrorist Organization, holding the commemoration day of LTTE cannot be allowed.
However the Mallakam court had allowed commemoration without using symbols or flags of LTTE.
People commented what has happened to the “ one country – one Law” concept.
