Justice Ilancheliyan pour his heart out on his body guard for 17 years

Personal sorrow of losing his body guard of 17 years, surmounting all protocols, Justice Ilancheliyan wept like a baby over the death of his body guard, SI, Hemachchandra who was killed in the attempt on the life of the Justice ilanchcheliyan.

Commenting on his dead body guard, Justice Ilanchcheliyan said, “My family and I cannot bear the loss of Hemachchandra, a respected body guard of mine. He protected me at a threatening time in Vavuniya. He came to Trincomalee when I went on transfer there. He came with me to Jaffna. But it was heartbreaking to see him killed in a peaceful environment, after passing threatening times together.

Hemachandra is a native of Chilaw and he leaves behind his wife, a son and a daughter ( His eyes started flooding with tears when he said this). Other body guard also fought valiantly in safeguarding me. I see this loss as the saddest event in my life, he said later.
