Kepapulavu struggle reaches its 100th day
The struggle undertaken by Kepapulavu people demanding the Navy which had occupied their ancestral lands to release them, had reach 100th day without any solution in sight.
Their will continue until we enter our lands, the people categorically stated. The Navy had acquired 482 acre belonging to 138 families.The owners of the lands had put up temporary sheds in front of the Army Camp in Kepapulavu.
So far no solution had been delivered to them. Meanwhile the Leader of the Opposition, Era Sampanthan had spoken to the Army high Command and District Secretariat Administration and had arranged for the Kepapulavu people to worship at Kottujkkinathu Pillaiyar temple which is currently under the control of the Army, after 3 years and then proceed to Vattapallai Kannaki temple with the “Madap pandam”.
