Killing of Ariyalai youth – Pistol, auto and motor cycle recovered, but the suspect not arrested yet
A NP22 type pistol bearing no: A23003046, two empty rounds, Motor cycle and an Auto, alledged to have been used to murder a youth in Ariyalai last month were captured day before yesterday night. But the arresting of the suspect/s will be delayed foe some more days, it was announced.
A CID team which arrived in Jaffna has undertaken inquiries captured the above, pistol, motor cycle and the Auto from the STF camp located at Pannai.
In the context where, it is presumed that the STF had committed this murder, no suspect /s has been arrested till yesterday night.
It was announced that statements are being recorded from STF men in the camp and arrest will be delayed for a few days.
Donbosco Desman (Aged 24 years) was shot dead on 22nd of last month near to 1st cross road, Vasanthapuram Manian Thottam, Ariyalai East, Jaffna.
A suspicion was raised from the outset that, the murder was committed by the Intelligence operatives of security Forces. The Jaffna police undertook inquiries, until the CID took over the inquiries.
