Land Acquisition attempt by Army at Koolavadi stopped by people

In the context of heavy opposition shown by people for the attempt to acquire, people’s lands, still another attempt to acquire 16 perches of people‘s lands including 2 perches of Sivapoomy Trust  which was allocated to care for disabled children was stopped by area people and politicians. Army is already in occupation of this land and yesterday’s attempt is to acquire it permanently for the army.

The Survey Department was making preparations to survey tis area, and people who got to know this went and demonstrated their protest at the spot. MP, S.Sritharan, NPC members, Balachchandran Kajatheeban, M.K.Sivajilingam, Vinthan Kanagaratnam and the Secretary of the TNPF, Kajendran participated in this protest. Because of this protest the department gave up its attempt.

However an Army officer photographed the participants and anther took video of the participant. It is notable that the forces men do this in all such happening in way threatening all participants.
