Lands to be grabbed in 118 places apart from Vali-North

The Survey department sources has said that the tri-forces had asked for lands in 118 places within the peninsula apart from Vali North.The Armed forces which have thousands of acre lands within HSZ had submitted details of 115 places for surveying purposes prior to acquisition.

Further to the lands already inside HSZ, 3 more lands in Thellipalai DS division, 21 in Maruthankerny , 16 each in Velanai and Chavakachcheri, 8 each in Kayts, Chankanai, and Kopay, 9 in Chandilipay, 6 each in Nallur and Delft, 5 in Karainagar, 3 in Karaveddy, 2 each in Jaffna and Karaveddy  and 1 in Uduvil.

All attempts to survey these lands were foiled by people and politicians. In a context where people were hopeful that a solution will be found to this problem, surveying attempts had started again pushing people into frustration.

It is notable that this matter will be discussed in a meeting organized for today in Colombo.
