The Tamil People’s Council had put out a request that the Mulliwaikkal disaster commemoration should be done in a united way so that it will pave the way for preventing the Disaster experienced by the Tamil people being experienced by any race of any country.
In the context of the UN Human Rights Organizations, and ICRC being expelled from the killing fields, and with the International Media being placed in the dark, the cruelty that was perpetrated on the Tamil People while the world countries were watching it, later the media like Channel 4 bringing out the cruelty, through documentaries clearly proving it as a war crime, the UN announcing at least 40,000 were killed on the last day of the war, the NPC adopting the Genocide resolution over it, while the right to remember the dead being refused, it is a welcomable act that the NPC is making all arrangements to commemorate the dead on 18th May presided by CM, C.V.Wigneswaran, TPC had said in a press release.
Let us make the sacrifices of our people into victorious pages of history, by commemorating our dead under a single umbrella of the NPC.
They have requested that the NPC should make use of all the powers it possesses to erect a permanent memorial tower with the names of all the people killed in Mulliwaikkal soil.
