Let’s get into NPC Election as a single faction. Else, it will disintegrate unity of Tamils, says TELO

Unity is the only weapon left for the Tamils. All the Tamil parties which have any concern about the Tamil Nationalism should get into a single faction and face the Provincial Council elections for North and East, said  Selvam Adaikkalanathan, the Leader of TELO and the Chairman of Committees and a Vanni District MP.

He said this during a media meeting with Tamil Journalists held at the Parliament complex, yesterday.

Elaborating further he said that the non-violent struggle for winning the rights of Tamil people is not yet over. The contemporary period is more important than the past periods. After the ‘silencing of the weapons at Muliwaikkal’ unity  and voting right are only weapons left for the Tamils. All Tamil parties concerned about Tamil Nationalism should  travel as one team, without splitting or standing separated. On the contrary if we face the election as several factions, it will split the vote bank of Tamil people and will disintegrate the unity of Tamil people.

Last NPC election was a good lesson. Parties came together to form government. It will be far better if this done before the elections.

At no time we should give a message to the south that there no unity among the Tamils. It will have a negative impact on the attempts for a political solution. We cannot vote for a candidate fielded by southern parties, just because a Tamil should come to power. Someone from us should come to power and he should rule, he said.
