Massed military : Ganja Smuggling : Fence grazing the crop? : CM raise suspicion

In a context where 150,000 army augumented by Navy and Air Force roaming around the North, how does the ganja is brought into Jaffna?, the Northern Provincial Council Chief Minister, C.V.Wigneswaran queried yesterday.

He expressed concern that the North which was very peaceful while the armed struggle for the liberation of Tamil people, has now transformed into the hub of smuggled Kerala Ganja.

An event for handing over livelihood assistance to woman led families was held at the Puthukkudiyiruppu PS hall in Mulaitheevu.

The CM participated in this event as the Chief guest and handed over the assistance to the recipients. Speaking further to the gathering he said, while we are struggling to pull up the people, the spreading of swords slashing and drugs usage are going on the increase is causing much confusion to us.

The fact that, there are some loop holes in our security activities, is demonstrated by the amounts of ganja that passes through the security nets. The continued staying of armed forces in the North has affected the routine and free life of the people, he said.
