If Mawai will not contest, I shall be the CM candidate for Northern Provincial Candidate, says CVK

If ITAK Leader Mawai Senathyrasa will not contest the CM post in the forthcoming Northern Provincial Council Elections, I will contest as the CM candidate, former Leader of the House, C.V.K.Sivagnanam yesterday.

He announced this in a press Conference held yesterday  at the Council ‘s  Secretariat.

He said this in reply, when he was asked to comment of the Post-dissolution plans and who will be the CM candidate.

When it was proposed for the CM post, he disowned it we had to suffer the current predicament.  The District branch has taken a decision that the CM candidate should be from the ITAK and that person had have a seniority on the basis of the Party constitution. As Mawai has announced that he will contest, I will support him. By any chance he will not contest, then, it is my stance that I am next in line for the candidacy. Hence, If Mawai will not contest, I will insist my stance, he said.
