Mawai will not withdraw from CM arena
Mawai Senathyrajah has said yesterday evening, to circles close to him that the news item uploaded in the web sites that he is withdrawing from the contest for NPC CM is not true. Circles close to him said that he directly told them so.
A question had come up now as to who will get into the CM arena on behalf of the TNA. The spokesman of the TNA , M.A.Sumanthiran had earlier declared that C.V.Wigneswaran will not be considered for CM Candidate. Mawai Senathyrajah had said that he is prepared get into the CM arena, if the TNA requests him. I am not going to make the same mistake of sacrificing the chance of contesting CM post, he had said.
The release of the book consisting of the speeches of the CM, C.V.Wigneswaran will be held today evening. The Leader of the TNA, Era Sampanthan is scheduled to visit Jaffna and participate in this event as the special guest. It is expected that meeting between him and the CM may occur today, in the context of the book release.
In this context, a news item has been published in the web sites to the effect that Mawai had come to a decision that if his exit from the CM candidacy is considered favourable to the party, no discomfort should be felt. I am prepared to withdraw from the contest, he was quoted as saying.
A TNA MP had visited the house of Mawai and inquired about the news. Thereupon, Mawai had completely denied the new and had said he had not said anything like that.
