Mulaitheevu fishermen in struggle against the transgression of Indian Fishermen

The fishermen Organizations, fishermen have joined in a struggle condemning the Transgression of Indian Trawler fishermen and they have commenced a continuous struggle, in a shed put up in front of the District Secretariat, Mulaitheevu.

Several Organizations have pledged open support for this struggle. Shops and markets had put up their shutters in support of yesterday’s struggle of the fishermen.

The Fishermen struggle  started at the Mulaitheevu in pouring rain, proceeded up to District Secretariat and held in the shed in front of the Secretariat. Further the Presidents of Fishermen Association and Federation handed over memorandum to Mulaitheevu GA, K.Wimalanathan.

Copies of the memorandum have been sent to Asst.Director, Fisheries Department,Minister of Fisheries, the Northern Governor, the Prime Minister and the President.

Mawai Senathyrajah,S.Gajendran, Charles Nirmalanathan and Vino Noharathalingam participated in the protest.
