Myliddy people request the Army to release the Road also
The Security Forces which are to release the Myliddy harbour , must also release the 3 Km long part of the Point Pedro – Ponnalai Road, which is currently under their control, for the use of the people. Maximum benefit of the release of the harbour could be reaped only through this , the people of Myliddy now resident at Point Pedro.
The Myliddy harbour is being released tomorrow after 27 years of occupation. Many people from Myliddy had been displaced and living in Point Pedro now. If are to come to Myliddy. They will have to trek distance of nearly 50 KMs. If the Security Forces release the 3 Km. long stretch of the PPT – Ponnalai road now under their control, this distance will be reduced to less than 10 Kms.
Hence the Myliddy people request the Security Force that, they release this stretch of road also along with the harbour.
In an event to be held tomorrow at Myliddy, the boats of Myliddy will commence their first fishing trip after the release from Myliddy harbour. The boats had been brought the harbour for this purpose.
