Navy prevents resettled Mulikulam people from erecting temporary sheds

When the Mulikulam people who had been displaced and resettled attempted to erect temporary sheds in the lands which were said to be released to them, the Navy had prevented them from doing so. The People of Mullikulam expressed concern.

The Mulikulam people who had constructed temporary shed near jungle area had done so on low lying lands  had been affected by rain and flood  and by wild elephants.

Following this the people had tried to erect temporary sheds in their own land which had been announced as released. However, the Navy had stopped their attempts and tension prevailed in the area between the people and the Navy.

The Parish priest had intervened and made the people to get back to their old sheds.

The people expressed concern that they are being exposed to the elements while Navy families are living comfortably in their houses.
