New Buddha Statue in Kilinochchi

The Army had established a Buddha statue in Kilinochchi along with a place of worship. Earlier a Bo sapling from Anuradhapura Maha Bhothy was planted near the Army HQ in Kilinochchi.  The troops of 11 Engineer Service Regiment (ESR) at the Security  Force Headquarters – Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) had erected a Buddha statue in this location at a very short time.

These premises were declared open by  Major General Amal Karunasekara, Commander, SFHQ- KLN during a religious ceremony  on Sunday (14).

The religious ceremony, including a colourful procession and a Bodhi Pooja were held under the supervision of the Commander, SFHQ-KLN.
