Northern Governor Palihakara resigns, Reginold Cooray to replace him?

The Northern Governor H.M.G.S. Palihakara has informed the President that he is to leave his post with this month.

Following the regime change the former Governor  Major General  G.A.Chandrasiri  resigned from his post. President Maithripala Sirisena appointed H.M.G.S. Palihakara as the new Governor. He had informed the president by letter that he will leave his post with this month. Following this it is speculated that Reginold Cooray will be appointed as the new Governor.
