OMP is trying to cheat relatives of missing persons by giving Rs.6,000/=

The Government approving a payment Rs. 6,000/= monthly through the Office for Missing to the relatives of Missing persons amounts to blunting and de-tracking our struggles, said the relatives of the missing persons.

Easwary, who act as the coordinator of the relatives of the missing persons, commenting on the matter said, the OMP of the Sri Lanka Government had made a decision to pay Rs.6,000/= per month to the relatives of the missing persons. The relatives of Missing persons yesterday had been convened in the shed where the struggle is undertaken and we have taken some decisions.

We don’t want any money. Let them give solutions to our problems and give some money to us.

Why the Government is trying to cheat us when we are searching for our kins?

They are trying to cheat us by giving money so as to make the prom of Missing persons disappear.

We strongly condemn this. When we said that OMP is not needed by us they said that details of 14,000 missing are available them. This is false information. Our relatives should be delivered to us. Then, let give us anything they want.
