Opinions on the Report on Ministers of NPC
Corruption and financial fraud accusations were placed on the ministers of the NPC and the CM appointed committee of retired judges and a retired Government Agent to inquire in to the charges. The Committee had submitted its report to the CM. This report had been leaked to the local news paper Uthayan, which had published some unconfirmed points in the report.
As per this news item, the Committee , had released two ministers from charges, and had recommended that two Ministers Ainkaranesan and Kurukularajah should resign immediately. The report was promised to be tabled in the NPC sitting today by the CM.
Commenting on the leaked report the NPC Leader of the Opposition, Thavarasa said that, he was placing accusation from the very start on the NPC and the Ministers. The accusation has been proved on the basis of evidences. The two Ministers should uphold democracy by resigning immediately.
Member Sivajilingam, while condemning the unauthorized leak of a critical document, said that, he cannot comment on mere speculations but shall do after receiving it officially.
Sritharan MP said that, the ministers should be granted their democratic rights to place their opinion on the report.
