Political Solution more important than economic development, boycott president’s Task Force, CM says to Sampanthan
The Chief Minister C.V. Wigneswaran said in a letter he has sent to Sampanthan that if they think economical Development is more important than political Solution, to participate in the Presidential Task Force, but Political solution should come first and then the Economical Development and that it is better not to participate in the meeting.
The TNA has been invited to participate in the meetings of the President’s Task Force. Writing further the CM had said that, “You are well aware that the Governor, Chief Secretary and I had been invited to these meetings.
I did not attend this meeting. If I had participated I could have reaped many benefits politically. But Tamils could not have got an appropriate solution to their problems. I am annexing a letter I sent to the President.
Now the president has invited 16 TNA Members to participate in this meeting. My personal opinion is that even though the government is ready to grant various economical benefits it is not ready to give a political solution.
I think that it is better if the political solution precedes economical development.
12 Central Ministers and high level Security Forces Officers are included in the said Task Force. I have asked as to what the security force officers had to do with this committee. Please let me know your opinion, he had written.
