Power should not be imposed on PCs: CM NPC to President

The powers of the Centre should not be imposed on the Provincial Councils, and the Plans should be implemented in consultation with the provincial council, and the Northern Provincial Council should be provided with more funds,  insisted the CM NPC, justice C.V. Wigneswaran to the President.

He  was addressing a workshop organized at the BMICH yesterday with the President in the chair for all Chief Ministers, Governors, Provincial Ministers, Chief Secretaries and Secretaries to the Ministries from all 9 Provinces. This workshop was held with a Theme of How the Development could be enhanced by undertaking proper Coordination at National and Provincial levels.

He had further said that, all the Provinces should be considered to be having same problems. Other Provinces had seen several years but, North and East are very young. Special attendance should be paid to the needs of the North and East. In was notable that, the Prime Minister Ranil and Garu Jayasooriya paerticipated in the morning sessions of this workshop.
