President promises a decision on release of TPPs before Monday to NPC CM and Ministers

The President Maithripala Sirisena has assured the CM and Ministers of NPC , who met him yesterday that an appropriate decision before Monday.

The CM, C.V.Wigneswaran and Ministers T.Kurukularajah, P.Ainkaranesan,P.Sathiyalingam and P.Deneeawaran met the President  Maithripala Sirisena at the President’s Secretariat yesterday from 1115 hrs to 1245 hrs.

The release of Tamil Apolitical Prisoners (TPPs) was mainly discussed in this meeting. Minister said that the President was fearing about the disturbance that will be caused in the south by the release of TPPs. It was pointed out to the President that Tamil people voted him to power in the hope that he will release the TPPs. In reply the President had said that he had no such idea as to keep the TPPs in prison.

Overall he had answered favourably, the Ministers said.
