Professors removed from post o Sexual abuse charges: says Vice Chancellor, Jaffna University

The women’s Day was celebrated by the Voice of Women Organization was held at the Weerasingham Hall, Jaffna Yesterday. Speaking at this event the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Jaffna, Prof. Mrs. Vasanthy Arasaratnam said that several Professors had been removed from their posts on sexual abuse charges. Although I am a woman I have taken all possible action.Women are also responsible for the happening of these things she said.

If these things were reported early proper action could have been taken. Our girls are not brought up in such a way to report these things overtly. Discretion and self confidence should be instilled in women. Two third of the student population of the University are women When they pass out and get employed their role in the economy will be an important one, she said.
