Protest in Jaffna against the deferral of UN inquiry report

A demonstration was held under the patronage of Women Organisation for finding out the missing persons in front of Jaffna in front of Veerasingam Hall today morning, urging the government to immediately release the political prisoners and demanding the UN Human Rights Council to present its war crime investigation report as originally announced.

Hundreds of relatives of disappeared people attended the protest holding their disappeared relatives’ pictures and placards.

TNA Parliamentarian Suresh Premachansdran, Northern Provincial Council Member Ananathi Sasitharan, Tamil National People’s Front (TNPF) leader Gajendrakumar Ponnambalam, TNPF General Secretary Kajendran and Colombo Municipal Council Member Baskara also attended the protest.
