Protest struggle and Hartal for  Forced to Disappear –  University Community pledges Full support

The Jaffna University Community had pledged it full support to the Attention drawing protest and Hartal organized by the Relatives of Forced to Disappear in North and East  to be held on 25.02.2019, the community had said in its press release.

While fully supporting the Attention drawing protest and Hartal organized by the Relatives of Forced to Disappear in North and East, it had also put out a call for everyone to support the Protest and Hartal.

Structured and orchestrated oppression against the Tamil people had continued over the years. The problem of the Forced to disappear is found to be a  part and parcel of this oppression.

In a context where we cannot accept internal investigation mechanism, we cannot accept granting more time to GOSL.

We hereby request UN that as the GOSL is continuing to fail in fulfilling the Accountability Obligations, relevant to violating Human Rights and Humanitarian Laws, the UNHRC should take into consideration,the implantation of them under, International  Court Investigation Mechanism.

A just solution for the Oppression against the Tamil people could only be made possible through an  International Investigation Mechanism. We request that the Sri Lanka Affair should be handled through Security Council, the press release said.
