Relatives of people made to disappear held ‘Black Independence Day ” on Feb. 4th in the North and These Anti- Government rallies were held in Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Vavuniya, Mullaitheevu , Mannar and Batticaloa and Trincomalee. In these protests, many people were with their mouths tied with black cThe protest at Kilinochchi was held at the Kanthaswamy Temple, participated dy people including MP, Siritharan. Mulaitheevu protest was held in front of the District Secretariat. They call for the government to find their kin and give them to them. More than 10 Intelligence men videoed and photographed the protesters.
Mannar protest Rally started in front of Citizen’s group with its President, Rev.Fr.E.Sebamalai in the lead and proceeded up to Mannar Bazzar and expressed their protests. Vavuniya protest was held as a fasting protest at the ‘Pongu Thamizh’ with binding of mouth with black cloth. Batticaloa protest was held the Ghandhi statue participated large number of people including former MP, Ariyanendran. Trincomalee protest was held in front of Governors Office.
