Sampanthan meets NPC members; Wigneswaran absent

Tamil National Alliance Leader R.Sampanthan met TNA members of the Northern Provincial Council yesterday. Chief Minister Wigneswaran was not present. He is currently on a tour in Jaffna.

Chairman of the Northern Provincial Council C.V.K.Sivagnam chaired the event. During the meeting, Sampanthan briefed the Councillors of the TNA’s stance on finding a political solution. He also assured them that all shades of opinions would be taken into account while determining the stance of TNA. He added that the views of the people in eight districts will be ascertained. Reports also say that several issues pertaining to the conduct of      NPC were also addressed. Reports indicate that thirty persons were invited and only 24 were present.
