Sharp nails were put through the path of the ‘Pottuvil to Polikandi’ march :  The rally reached Mullaitivu amidst obstacles

The ‘Pottuvil to Polikandi’ rally, which is being held for the 3rd day against the government’s repression, was disrupted on Friday with sharp nails being thrown on the roads.

The ”Pottuvil to Polikandi” march, which is being carried out for the 3rd day against the government’s repression, was hampered by sharp nails thrown at the rally roads on Friday.

The distruption was carried out on the Kallarai Bridge while marching from Trincomalee to Mullaitivu.

In particular, the vehicles of civil society representatives, religious leaders and the vehicle in which TNA MP Chanakyan was traveling, as well as the tires of some vehicles were reported to have been damaged. The rally was delayed as nails and iron thorns were sprinkled on the road.  There is a police guard near the place where the attack took place.

The rally has now entered the city of Mullaitivu via Pulmottai and Manalaru.

Today’s rally is attended by a large number of people. When the rally reached Mullaitivu, about a large number of people joined the rally. The rally which started in Pottuvil in Ampara District on Wednesday had reached Batticaloa that day and reached Trincomalee yesterday.

Tamil and Muslim politicians, civil society members, intellectuals, religious leaders and thousands of  Tamil and Muslim people are participating in the rally.
